Poetry wins prizes!

We ran a competition for schools in April. Teachers were asked to nominate their class to win a BIG day out in our Trampoline Park and indoor Adventure & Climbing Centre.

We were overwhelmed by the amount of entries, the effort and creativity put into the applications. It was impossible just to pick one…that’s why we decided to pick TWO winners!

Our first winner, Bangor Academy, was announced live on Q Radio’s breakfast show on Thursday 4 April.

Nominated by teacher, Hannah Thompson who wrote this lovely poem…

I am their English teacher preparing them for their test
I’ve encouraged them to work hard and try their best.

Soon the principal will make a decision
To release them from school to complete extra revision.

I’d like a chance to say goodbye
before when from the Bangor Academy nest they will fly.

A day to We are Vertigo would be a wonderful day to remember
As when exams have been sat and it comes to September

Many will kiss their childhood goodnight
And meet the world of work in morning light.

So give this English teacher a chance to treat 12B3
(And show them that there is still good use for poetry!)

‘My class have worked hard in preparing for their GCSE in English Language. Many have overcome lots of obstacles and I’m proud of them. I’d love to have recognition for their hard work before they get results in August!’

Our second winner was Holywood Primary School, thanks to teacher Angela Atkinson who nominated her class for a very different reason…

I am nominating P3 Room 5 Miss McKeown (now Mrs Fulton)as she took very ill just before Easter and ended up in hospital with pneumonia just days before her wedding. She is the best teacher ever and the children adore her and have really missed her in the weeks she’s been off. I would love to surprise her on her return to school with a trip out with all her kids.

We’re glad Miss Fulton (nee McKeown) is on the mend. We’ll make sure she gets extra special treatment from the talented therapists in our luxury spa during their visit.

Don’t worry if your school hasn’t won. We have some great offers for schools planning for their end of term parties.
